Will The Courts Permanently Change Procedures Due To The Pandemic?

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the court system has been virtual. Most legal proceedings now take place online, through video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Cisco. This shift has ushered in new rules of conduct, as many courts have their own guidelines on proper etiquette while participating in an online legal proceeding.

But not every new rule is strict. For instance, some courts now allow attorneys to send document requests and responses via email. Such correspondence is more informal and more efficient than ever before, and almost none of it is being done in person.

The question is, are these changes here to stay?
